Velvetfrenchie puppy feeding calculator
Works with any puppy food. Enter your puppy's details and the calories from the food bag.
Look for "calorie content" or "metabolizable energy" on the bag. If it only shows kJ, divide by 4.184 to get kcal.
This is a starting point, not a vet's prescription. Weigh food on a kitchen scale when you can, as cups vary. A healthy Frenchie puppy has ribs you can feel but not see, and a visible waist. If your puppy is gaining or losing too fast, adjust or ask your vet. Feed puppies as the vet advises if they have health conditions.
The Velvet Frenchie Puppy Feeding Calculator is a simple, practical tool that helps new owners work out how much to feed their French Bulldog puppy each day. Enter your puppy’s age, weight and the calories on the food bag, and the calculator gives you a daily amount and a per-meal amount in both grams and cups.
Because it is calorie-based, it works with any puppy food, not just one brand. If you feed Hill’s Science Diet Puppy, simply select it from the list. If you use a different food, enter the calories from the bag in kcal per kg, kcal per cup or kcal per 100 g, and the calculator does the conversion for you.
French Bulldogs gain weight easily, and puppies need different amounts as they grow. The calculator adjusts for your puppy’s age and shows how many meals a day are suitable at each stage, from four small meals for very young puppies down to two meals as they get older. If you give treats, tick the treats option and it will reduce the meal total by 10% so the daily calories stay on track.
When you have your result, you can use the Export CSV button to download your puppy’s feeding plan. It’s handy for keeping a record, sharing with your vet, or comparing amounts as your puppy grows. The calculator is mobile-friendly, so you can use it on your phone in the kitchen.
This calculator is a starting point, not a substitute for veterinary advice. Every puppy is different, so check your puppy’s body condition regularly. You should be able to feel the ribs but not see them, with a visible waist. If your puppy is gaining or losing weight too quickly, or has any health concerns, speak to your vet.
The Velvet Frenchie Puppy Feeding Calculator is more than a tool. It’s a friendly guide to help your new Frenchie get the best, healthiest start in life.
